Distributors are asking me to register for GST for book sales

How should I go about this?

I am 82 years old and my book sales number not more than 40 per annum

My income is below the minimum taxable limit

If you are selling books online then you will have to take GST registration, in other cases it is optional.

Once you take GST registration you will have to file GST return 3B every month regardless of how many books you sell.

With just 40 books it is advisable to avoid GST registration. I believe with just 40 books sells a year, you might incur more expenses with a consultant who will file your GST return.
