Assuming a GTA is registered under GST...

Now, what if he takes service worth Rs 2000/- of a local unregistered mechanic due to vehicle break-down... or GTA spends Rs 500/- towards Tyre's Puncture repair...

Does it need to pay GST on same? GTA can't get any credit of the same...?

Now, what would have been the situation for booking such expenses... if the GTA was not registered under GST...

Will taking registration under GST increase burden on GTA towards compliance of GST law and accounting...?

You have to think from both side. You are not bound to comply with tax payment on outward supplies. Lobby should work on to bring GTA into proper levy.

I think transporters had strike for a month when service tax was levied on them. It is backfiring now.

You cannot take input credit but have to comply with RCM and registration compliance.
