If you have registered under GST and want to cancel your registration. You can do it now.

The facility is made available on GST website.

To cancel your registration you need to:

  • Login
  • Click on Services
  • Click on Registration
  • Click on Application for Cancellation of Registration

Application for Cancellation of GST Registration (Form GST REG 16) is enabled on the GST Portal.

Taxpayers (Newly Registered i.e, on or after July 2017) can now apply for cancellation of registration. Cancellation facility has been already allowed to migrated taxpayers in simple steps.

Note: Voluntarily Registered Taxpayers cannot file cancellation within 1 year of registration as per Rule 20 of CGST Rules, 2017

Finally GST portal has come up with cancellation option.

What do you mean by Voluntarily Registered Taxpayers cannot cancel registration upto one year?

Finally this has come.

Many taxpayers were waiting for this option.

People are looking to exit from GST burden, unfortunately deregistration not possible up to one year.
