Hospitals are under healthcare service provider. And healthcare sector is completely exempted from GST.

Then, how and why hospitals have to pay tax on behalf of an unregistered service provider!

Health care sector is not exempted. Tax is charged on many equipment and hospital services.

For example Photographic plates and film for x-ray for medical use are taxed at 12%.

Similarly many items are taxed. If you are providing service to any hospital GST has to be charged.

In case of healthcare, services by a clinical establishment, an authorised medical practitioner or para-medics is exempted.
