I am trying to edit my GST registration details.

I see 2 options:

  • Amendment of Core fields
  • Amendments of non core fields

What is the difference between Core and non-core fields?

Every registration application will have 2 type of data input fields.

Core and non-core fields.

Core fields are one which require approval from jurisdictional officer and non-core fields does not require any approval.

So, the major difference is that non-core amendments will be on live basis. As soon as you sign your application, your changes will be applicable.

In case of core fields amendments take place only after approval of jurisdictional officer.

Following fields of the registration application are called core fields.

  • Name of the Business, (Legal Name) if there is no change in PAN
  • Addition / Deletion of Stakeholders
  • Principal Place of Business (other than change in State) or Additional Place of Business (other than change in State)

Other than above fields all are non-core fields.
