I am a tax consultant and want to register under GST as a GST practitioner.

What are the different documents required to become a GST practitioner? Whether we have to submit documents online only or physically to any department?

Whether physical inspection of premises will be required by any GST officer?

You can register as a GST practitioner by applying online on GST website.

The complete procedure for registration is online and you need not to visit any office physically.

List of documents required for GST practitioner registration

  • Photo of Applicant
  • Proof of Professional Address (Any One) - Any other Certificate / document issued by Government, Any other Certificate or record from Govt department, Electricity Bill, Legal ownership, Municipal Khata Copy, Property Tax Receipt, Rent / Lease agreement, Rent receipt with NOC (In case of no/expired agreement)
  • Proof of qualifying degree
  • Proof of designation of post held at time of retirement* (Applicable for Retired Govt Officials only) - Pension Certificate used by AG Office or LPC
