Is it possible to sell online without getting GSTIN?

Do one has to compulsory get GST registration to sell online?

I am planning to sell online on various platforms but do not wish to register for GST as my turnover is expected to be less than 2 lakhs in a year.

Any Person selling Goods or Services on e commerce platform like Amazon / Flipkart is mandatory required to GST register under GST irrespective of threshold limit of Rs 20 Lakh (Rs 10 Lakh in specified category state)

Although, E-commerce aggregates are also responsible under the GST law for collecting and depositing tax at the rate of 1% from each transaction. Accordingly All the traders/dealers selling goods/services online would need to get registered under GST even if their turnover is less than 20 Lakhs for claiming the tax deducted by aggregators.
