CA, CS and CMA recognised as Postgraduate degree

University Grant Commission (UGC) has recognized CA, CS, and CWA equivalent to postgraduate degrees. Earlier these courses were recognized as professional courses only.

Request to UGC was made by Institutes to recognize these courses as postgraduate courses. UGC formed a committee to study the proposal and in the end, recognition was given.

CA, CS, and ICWA students, as well as professionals, have welcomed this decision.

Institution of Chartered Accountants of India made the request before UGC to recognize CA degree equivalent to a postgraduate degree, and based on the request, the committee was formed. Committee recommended recognizing CA, CS, and CWA courses equivalent to postgraduate degrees.

Now students and professionals will have an advantage at the global level as well as can appear for different exams requiring a postgraduate degree.

Earlier students had to pursue different courses to obtain graduate and postgraduate degrees, now upon completing CA/CS/CWA courses students will get an additional benefit.
