What are the documents required for registration under GST?

If tax payer is already registered and migrating to GST, in this case also do we need to provide the documents?

I have written an article to explain the complete procedure and provisions applicable to registration under GST. You can read that full article to understand the complete registration provisions provided by CGST Act, 2017 and Registration rules.

However to answer you specifically below are the list of documents required to be provided for GST registration:

  1. Photograph of proprietor/HUF/Partner/Authorised person
  2. Proof of registration or Constitution of Taxpayer, example, partnership Deed, COI in case of a company,
  3. Proof of Principal/Additional Place of Business,
  4. Proof of bank account,
  5. Authorisation letter

I will suggest you to read the full article to get the list of documents. Though I have provided you the broad heading, for specific document with example you can refer to the article linked above.
